MORE THAN A MEAL
Daily nutrition for their best life
The right nutrition can transform how a pet feels, looks and acts. That’s why the Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love program provides science-led nutrition to hundreds of shelters across North America, helping more than 12 million pets find new homes since 2002.
Across Australia & New Zealand we have provided over 1.6M Kgs of Hill's pet food to over 40 LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS.
Since 2002, we’ve partnered with more than 1000 ANIMAL SHELTERS across North America to provide over $300M worth of pet food.
Happier, healthier, more adoptable
Along with expert care from shelter staff, Hill’s pet foods can play a vital role in helping pets like Skylar find their forever homes. When you purchase Hill’s, you help us provide premium nutrition to thousands of shelter pets across the country, 365 days a year.

MORE THAN ADOPTION
Relief when disaster strikes
From hurricanes and wildfires to global pandemics, thousands of pets are impacted each year by a disaster. The Hill’s Disaster Relief Network is a first-of-its-kind program created in 2013 to quickly provide free pet food to animal shelters, veterinary clinics, and other non-profit organizations caring for pets after disasters.
We proudly partner with these organizations to support animal welfare around the world

MORE THAN A SHELTER
Part of your community
Nutrition is just one aspect of a pet’s wellbeing. Animal shelters provide much-needed housing, medical care, and compassion to pets in need.
Our partners live the same mission every day, making sure these animals get the best shot at a better life.
Some additional services your local animal shelter may also provide include:
- Veterinary Services
- Behavioural Consutations
- Training
- Community Education Programs
- Pet Food Pantries

More ways you can help
Even if you’re not in a position to adopt a dog or cat, there are several ways you can help your local shelter throughout the year.
Fostering a dog or cat helps shelters save space while socializing a pet in a loving environment. Many organizations will pay for vet care, while others provide much more, such as food and bedding. Call your local shelter ahead of time to see what their policy is.
Other ways you can join the mission
Make a donation
Most shelters often need supplies such as blankets, pet treats, gently used chew toys, office supplies, and garbage bags.
Volunteer
Shelters often need dog walkers, photographers, laundry, and animal rescue support.
Every adoption is a new beginning
When you adopt a dog or cat through one of our shelter partners, you may leave with a free bag of Hill’s pet food to continue the benefits of our science-led nutrition.
As you continue to purchase Hill's pet foods, you join the millions of other pet parents who expand our Food, Shelter & Love program and help ensure future shelter pets also find their forever homes.
